Jamie Pouliot, LCMHC
I have been working in the counseling field since 2003. Throughout that time I have learned that the relationship between myself and my client is one of the most important agents of change. When asked, “What do you recall about your experience in therapy?” More often than not, clients remember the positive supportive statements of their therapist. My goal with every client is to provide an engaging, supportive and empathetic environment where the client feels relevant. I believe that therapy is about discovery and growth and both can happen when working in an appropriate environment. Throughout my career I have worked extensively with families, as well as, individual clients and couples. I now primarily work with individuals over the age of 18. My practice focuses on the use of EMDR to assist individuals in healing and moving through their stuck places. When I am not working I enjoy being outside. In 2013 I fulfilled a childhood dream and became certified as a PADI scuba diver. I have always had an appreciation for the ocean and the life in it and find my time underwater to be a place of serenity. The forest and mountains also provide me with a sense of peace. My husband and I try to get to the White Mountains a few times a year to work toward our goal of hiking New Hampshire's 4000 footers. Finding the balance in life can be difficult and when we are not functioning at our best it can affect us emotionally and physically and interfere with our relationships. If you are seeking a new direction, the ability to heal or the desire to get past your stuck places I would like to assist you on your journey. |
